In the meantime....

Some may be wondering what I've been up to in the 2 years since I've last posted. Let's see....

my Myspace account was attempted to be hacked into (so I made a new one), my Yahoo ID one was and had to make a new one of those as well...

other than that, just got older :P I made some new friends on Myspace (very special ones :) ) and many of the others either didn't acknowledge me or were deleted themselves. If I can take a moment to rant on this - it seems Myspace has the idea to delete all hermaphrodites on their system. I have no idea why, they do exist and many didn't display anything offensive or said anything wrong. One friend was a couple that I was just getting to know and they didn't have any pictures of "her" without "her" being fully clothed and maybe just smiling with a female friend or posing outside - and yet other people can have pictures of full nudity (or exposing themselves) and still be allowed on?! - and it's not just hermaphrodites, but other people as well being picked on by Myspace. I have a special place in my heart for all of my friends and it hurts when Myspace goes off and deletes them for no reason.

Oh yes, my newest weakness I got on Christmas - an Xbox360. I wanted one since my birthday and for Christmas, I got one. No games except the one that came with it (Uno and a few others) but since then, I've rented a few and bought some and they've been keeping me busy. :) (sometimes too busy. *blush!*)

Granted I can't promise to be on here often (between my Xbox and Myspace, it takes up a lot of hours in the day), I think I'll be able to remember to be here more often than every 2 years :D (or I'll try! :P *chuckle* *blush*)

Broken hearted

how is one supposed to think when he suddenly finds himself alone?

One friend who moved to Orlando... I've not heard from in a couple months - since her birthday...
Another who lives up north (you know who you are, H) - in a month as well (but we used to keep in contact much closer... remember when it was a couple times a day... then a week?)
One who went west to CA years ago...

I went on Myspace to make friends to talk to.... and they've been silent as well....
No one on Yahoo 360 is talking either....

to one day have friends and the next for all of them to be gone in one fell swoop....

it's not something I can rebound from quickly.... it'll take some time.

April Fool's Day

fortunately, I've not been on the receiving end of any AFD pranks (nor have I been giving any)....

I might actually make it through 1 year without one....

anyhow, thank goodness for the spring! Warmth, sunny skies, warmth, nice breezes, warmth... hmm... I detect something here... :D

I can't stand the cold that much... winter needs to be shorter... :P (or warmer) :D - before you judge me as a cold 'hater' - I'll put it this way... my job... nights (around the midnight, early AM hours).. no sun... no heating / no AC.... open truck bay doors (30 of them on my side of the building alone... all open)... cold wind... 30 ish degrees... and wearing gloves makes it nearly impossible to work, so having to take them off to do my job before putting them back on to move to the next truck...

if it were warmer (and no breeze) (maybe 45 to 50) I can handle that.... :P

anyhow... spring.. time for things to renew and hopefully friendships to blossom (trying to make some new ones) but always wanting to keep older ones going as well... :)

is it wrong?

is it so wrong to be on vacation and have absolutely nothing planned?

I don't think so - considering at my job, you have to post for vacation weeks in November of the previous year. Hard to tell what I'd be doing or where I'd be going.

It just so happens I'll be spending a few days up in GA with my folks, fixing up their trailer. This wasn't planned - just coincidentally convenient. After which, we'd return home and I'd have a couple days off before heading down to Orlando - specifically, Universal Studios for their annual Mardi Gras festivities (held each Saturday from mid Feb to early April). There's no particular group or anything I'd want to see this time (as the good ones were back in Feb and the last couple weeks of March) - but how would I know this when even Universal doesn't post it until the beginning of Feb.?

but still... it is time off from work and I'm going to do my best to enjoy it. :)

be more fun if I had someone to enjoy it with... ;) but I'll make do.

upcoming furry events...

hard to believe that time of year is almost here!

for the past few years, I've always tried to make at least 1 of the furry conventions and the closest one has been Megaplex. Usually held in Orlando but this year, it'll be held in my hometown of Jax. I'm very excited about that - mostly due to it being local as I couldn't get this coming weekend off completely. I'll be able to attend Friday and Saturday with no problem - Sunday night I'll have to work and therefore might miss some things but it works out for the best - I still am able to attend.

Megaplex (back then FSB) was the first furry convention I ever attended. I've also been to a few of the Anthrocons but that is held in PA. I was hoping to go this year but things didn't work out too well for that. (No place to stay... granted if I were to take the train or something I could make it up and would pay at the door to get in... but not sure) anyhow, I'm hopeful for next year.

also coming up in April is my local furry group's picnic (always a good time and warm weather) held at Hanna Park (right on the beach). Last few years we've had a big crowd... while not many people have signed up for it yet, I'm sure there will be more attending as it gets closer. Some come with their fursuits and it's always a nice sight to see how many people around the beach come up and ask for pictures with them as well as the reactions of little ones. They think they're at Disney or something. Last year I believe, some teen girls in prom dresses came up asking for pictures with them.

they (conventions) are always fun to attend not just because of the furriness and artwork and games but it gives me the chance to catch up with friends that I've not seen in quite some time (and some I'd be meeting for the first time.) :)

come on spring!!!!

as I write this, it's a day when the temperature in north Florida hit a new record low... 25 degrees (previous record was 28) - the high of the day never hit 53 and I sit in a room with a small heater going....

how I long for spring to hurry up and arrive...

not just for the warmth but it's also for the things happening in the springtime...
my first vacation happens in a few weeks from now (hopefully it warms up by then) - although I have no definite plans...

in April (when it WILL be warmer), my local furry group has an annual picnic and it's always a good time to share with friends and to be at the beach :)

so come on spring.... :>

and it's not just because someone I care a lot about might be able to visit - but that thought helps out greatly and also helps keep me warm (which makes the heater I'm using now very thankful)

why?

it's been cold outside, raining, the frequent periods of warm and cold trends have made plants bloom and die and bloom again - causing terrible havoc to people with allergies (hayfever) like myself - making me ill, work's been the pits for the longest time....

why do I still tredge forward? I do my best to continue because : 1. it's too easy to give up and 2. hope...

not a promise, not something set in stone... but with correspondence of a good friend and the hope to meet up in person after so many years of 'speaking' to each other over the net... that's why I do it... for the hope of meeting up... (and you know who you are, H.) ;)
